5/6 Is it a murder?
The neighbor, Miss Applecotton, was out walking her dog that very same evening. She liked Agatha Christie novels, especially the juicy ones about Miss Marple and her adventures as a lady detective.
Miss Applecotton liked to think of herself, being a spinster and all, like the Marple of Weedy Meadow and of course Weedy Meadow as St. Mary Mead, the little village where Marple lived.
She hadn't really solved any murder mystery, but she had found the missing cat, turned out it had just went for a walk with Nigel*, and the missing mail. That had been a really tricky one. She was just going over it in her mind when she heard screaming and then…
- You're killing me!!
Miss Applecotton stopped dead in her tracks, eyes widened and mouth popped open. Finally! A murder! She yanked poor Mr. Jenkins with her in his lead. This way! It came from the Davis house. Mr. Jenkins wasn't cooperative at all, he had just found the distinct smell of squirrel-up-to-no-good and wanted to go the other way.
After tying the dog to a tree, she tip toed over the lawn, not caring if she trespassed, she was going to see a crime in action and then she could help the police solve it! She moved like a retired ninja over to the window and peeked in.....
Oh...
The disappointment was immense. She guessed she should be relived no one was dead, but who was she kidding? Miss Applecotton fetched Mr. Jenkins and went home, both deprived of their adventures. Well, nothing a big cup of tea and a call to Mrs. Winterbottom wouldn't fix. So they would laugh about it.

Ps: Mr. Jenkins found the squirrel the next morning…
