Red & Green (Food Photography)

Photo # 5

Objective 3: Composition Techniques

6. Pattern: There is an example of pattern in this photo. The grapes and tomatoes are in a repeated pattern in a green-red type of format giving of the repetition of colors. It also makes a even amount of pattern at any view in the image as it was put into a 3 by 3 pattern chart.

Objective 5: Post Production

Corrections/adjustments made: brightness was used as the image was unfortunately darker then expect so a little brightening was added so the image would appear much more appropriate for being indoors. Some contrast / leveling was added to give the grapes their more green color and the tomatoes their more red color making it stand out more

Objective 7: Photographic Styles

Type/style of photography: Food Photography

The camera mode (P, Tv, Av, M): Av

f stop used: 5.6

shutter speed used: 1/8

ISO used: 200

Exposure compensation: +1

Focal length: 49.0 mm

The settings on the photo are as shown were put there for the photographic style of Food Photography. Av mode was used to adjust the F stop that was used in the photo to allow the grapes and baby tomatoes to be in proper focus in the photo. The shutter speed and ISO was used to allow the photo to be a brighter picture as it was taken inside with nothing too bright or too dark to change its end result. Exposure Compensations was just in AWB mode adjusting the photo automatically. Lastly focal length was used to keep the fruit in focus so that it wasn't too blurry of an image as it was taken quite close for the camera to handle.
