7th Hole, Pebble Beach Golf Links

the late day light on the 7th hole at Pebble Beach tends to be dramatic at times. Regardless, I love to be out there witnessing the beauty of this amazing place and golf course. There are so many different angles from which to photograph this iconic par 3 golf hole. I can go up the left of the hole as I took this one from atop a ladder on my cart, or I can shoot from the tee on my ladder or from the cliff. The perspectives are numerous and each renders great photographs at times. On this particular afternoon the cloud formations and light were changing constantly. I've been to pebble beach golf links many times over the past eight years and it's always different. The constantly changing weather patterns, surf, clouds make for great photo opportunities. Each time I am in awe of the beauty of this place and what I am able to capture. I love the nuances, including the passing dolphin or whale breaching in the distance. I can go up to the fence on the right side of the tee box and look down on the rocks and see the seals resting. Or, witness a lone otter floating on his back with a rock attempting to crack open and abalone shell. This image was captured with my Hasselblad H3D-50 and a 35-90mm lens at 40mm mounted on a tripod atop a golf cart. The biggest challenge is trying not to fall of the cart.
