57601+57313 Willand
57601 "Windsor Castle" leads the Northern Belle and 57313 towards the outskirts of Willand with the 1Z82 16.55 Paignton-Swansea, diverted via Westbury due to upgrade works taking place in the vicinity of Bristol Temple Meads.
This was a new location for me, one which I had driven past on countless occasions but never attempted. A complete annihilation of lineside vegetation in this area a couple of years ago opened up this nice viewpoint overlooking the grounds of a dog playground (previously used for fruit-growing by the owners of a now-closed farm shop). I was particularly enticed to this location by the dilapidated wooden PW hut.
Please note, you will need a pole or a decent telescopic ladder to obtain this shot; on this occasion I was able to use my 2.5m ladder to get over the barbed-wire fence. Also expect to be approached by the inquisitive, but very friendly, owners of the adjoining doggo business, as I found out for myself!
