88007 Docker

88007 "Electra" races over Docker Viaduct with the 4S43 06.00 Daventry-Mossend liner in the best of the morning sunshine in Cumbria. If there was anything I could get in decent light on this day, it was 88's which I didn't grumble about especially as this was the first time I had seen them with their pantograph up. Also of note is that Network Rail are carrying out stabilisation and pointing work on the Viaduct, hence the many ropes that can be seen dangling down around the arches.

This shot is not usually possible at high summer, however 4S43 was operating in a later path due to a major engineering blockade at Acton Grange Junction, which consequently meant it had to be diverted away from its usual route. This meant the sun was spot on for when it passed this Cumbrian classic.
