Spinnin', Spinnin', Spinnin' : fun with the Cardy paperdoll avatars in Second Life

www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3GLzTsCryk

Dancing with my Cardy. I have a lot of fun in Second Life. Lately, a community of us have been having fun with a new paperdoll avatar Cardy. I couldn't resist making this video as Myrdin Sommer and Tinovation have made quite a few items they are giving away for free that inspired me.

Myrdin created and gave away the Cyclops paperdoll avatar (using S&P's Cardo body), his keytar and the cardboard rainy setting.

Tinovation made and gave away the mirror background, the cardboard guitar which animates when you hold it, and a tap dance hud: her items are often grouped together as a set.

I also love MOoh's flat skeleton avatars that I got a long time ago from what was once known as gachas. Okay, not flat but isn't my Tiny Pocketwatch avatar so cute? It even opens when you click it. Cracks me up.

I wrote the song Sugar and Cayenne. I'm a little bit sweet and a little bit spicy and I love food so the phrase just worked for me. Plus Cayenne rhymes with rain so it was perfect (actually that was how I found"cayenne" when working out the lyrics. I used RhymeZone to find rhymes for rain. )

I probably tried to put too many ideas in the song. I love that we can be anything literally in Second Life. It is so much fun and that was the premise of the song. I love that Cardy paperdoll has a few creators making manga/anime type faces for it so that's in the song with "Live like we're anime". I loved drawing anime and manga in high school and still love watching it. Cowboy Bepop and Wolf Rain are among my favorites even though I know they are probably old enough to be considered vintage these days.

And SL is my happy world but it actually has two meanings in the song. "Happy World" reminds me of the one class I took in computer programming where it was supposed to print out Happy World on screen, which it did, but I realized then that breaking things down into tiny tiny steps was not for me unless those steps are dancing, lol.

I hope you enjoy the song and the video as much as I did in creating it.

Credits: I put them in a blog post with links to creators because it was too long to put in here.
