45074 Peak Forest January 1982
The exact date of this visit to Peak Forest is not in my notebook and the reason for visiting the Buxton area is now long forgotten.
But the day produced a couple of memorable photographs including this view of 45074 northbound at Peak Forest.
Times they were a changing, within a week or so emigration would take place to Southern California and scenes such as this would be only possible on short return visits to the UK from time to time.
But in all those return visits none included a journey up to Peak Forest. Was it perhaps because the once familiar Class 25s hauling eighteen ICI bogie wagons loaded with limestone were long gone?
