Scotch Argus (F)
A speciality of only a few sites in Cumbria in Northern England, but more widespread in Scotland. The velvety appearance means that they scratch very quickly, so best visited early in the season. Females usually appear a little later than the males and are slightly larger and more brightly marked - this fresh female was the only one spotted amongst the dozen or so seen (6127).
