Northern Brown Argus (M)

An end of season male (salmacis form) from the lower slopes of Whitbarrow Scar in South Lakeland, Cumbria (UK) (0005).

This single-brooded species, found in the north of the UK, is usually finished by the end of July. As a consequence of the cool Spring and a late emergence, it was nice to find small numbers still on the wing this late in the season, some in respectable condition!
