Brightly coloured fresh female nectaring on brambles in the late afternoon sunshine at Arnside Knott in Cumbria (UK) (7886) - the only female spotted in three visits to the site in the last week of July, so possibly the first of the season at Arnside. Females typically appear about a week after the males take to the wing.
