Scotch Argus (F)

Brightly coloured fresh female nectaring on brambles in the late afternoon sunshine at Arnside Knott in Cumbria (UK) (7886) - the only female spotted in three visits to the site in the last week of July, so possibly the first of the season at Arnside. Females typically appear about a week after the males take to the wing.

Canon 5D Mk IV and Canon 100 mm f/2.8L macro lens.
