an odd conundrum and yet well met

I find that it is true

having come the proverbial full circle

the beginning and the ending

with my love for you

I let my love for you define me

and now you're gone

and I am lost to everyone

but mostly to myself

I must therefore venture out

to see if I can find me

in an overwhelming sea of darkness

a void eclipses all my wealth

my worth is what

I do not know yet

but I have stepped from the abyss

into the light

and forgotten most of what

there was about me

so I must teach myself anew

so I can leave behind this endless night
