ALL IN A CLUSTER
"The artist is a receptacle for emotions that come from all over the place; from the sky, from the earth, from a scrap of paper, from a passing shape, from a spider's web.”
- Pablo Picasso

WE HAVE ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD – LOUIS ARMSTRONG
Baby spiders in the air
in a hammock without a care
where is your mother; she's over there
hurrying back to her little lair
Baby spiders having fun
some wait quietly for their mum
a few are naughty and begin to run
up the strands their mum has spun
Baby spiders very yellow
mum's lime green and very mellow
she has so many children and has to bellow
to make herself heard to the little fellows
Baby spiders life is a joy
for every girl and every boy
and let my garden be your toy
to live and play; now don't be coy
Baby spiders in a cluster
don't let the wind get you in a fluster
it will calm down this sudden bluster
little spiders as yellow as dusters
Baby spiders huddled together
swing high and wide; web strong as leather
one end tied and the other tethered
between the ivy and honeysuckle clever
Baby spiders don't you worry
your mum is fine and in a hurry
to get back to you and with a flurry
here she is hot in a scurry
Baby spiders I see you
you make me smile; yes, really you do
you remind me of the old woman and her shoe
who had so many children she didn't know what to do
Baby spiders enjoy and spin
little webs over and over again
and curl up and sleep in leaves when it rains
and never climb up pipes or fall down drains!
