FEBRUARY MELANCHOLY BLUES

I've been a bit prolific this past week trying to distract myself from reality ... so this is my last post for a little while whilst I focus on those all too often neglected corners of my life. Take good care of yourselves and each other and thank you for this lovely time <3

“In the green morning I wanted to be a heart. A heart. And in the ripe evening I wanted to be a nightingale. A nightingale.”

- García Lorca

“You will find that it is necessary to let things go; simply for the reason that they are heavy. So let them go, let go of them. I tie no weights to my ankles.”

― C. JoyBell C.

I'M FINE – HAZEL ENGLISH

Your love put the sapphires in my eyes

you placed the roses in my cheeks

you took me always by surprise

as we wandered through life; the troughs and peaks

You took the wind from beneath my sails

you took my breath away

you drained my blood and made me pale

as you let me fall; as night found day

You took my heart on that last green morning

you galloped across the sun-lit hills

you found me wanting in the ripened evening

as I sat 'neath the Manet by the windowsill

I wish to lighten the load that binds you

I wish to brighten the road that winds before you

I wish to untighten the rope that twines around you

fly free, my love … fly free

and I will do the same

so I can be just me

and you can be just you

no longer us; no longer we.
