EVALUATION
This is my final design for the Urban Myths project. I think my idea is successful and that I achieved what I set out to do, as I aimed to create a professional looking logo that also pokes fun of the conspiracy theory that Area 51 is hiding aliens technology in the base. I did this by first designing the logo and then choosing a colour scheme that's based off retro images of UFOs and sci-fi.
I am happy with my use of the software; at the beginning of the project I had no idea how to navigate Adobe Illustrator, but through experimenting with different logo designs I learned the basics of the program fairly quickly. I now believe I am capable of doing more in Illustrator to improve the quality of my work in the future. Prior to this project I also had no idea how to use In Design. However, much like illustrator I picked up the basics quite fast which allowed me to create the pages of my app more easily and without much issue. I still think I have a lot more to learn when it comes to In Design but I am happy that I managed to get to grips with using a program that was previously unfamiliar to me. I am also happy with my use of After Effects - even though I had already been learning how to us it in a different unit, I still learned how to do different effects that I had not used in the separate unit. Overall, I am satisfied with my use of every software I have used.
I am particularly proud of the labour of my logo. I managed to incorporate the sky and the UFO into a circular shape which flows well. I am also proud of the font which I created myself using Illustrator. It is in the centre of the image which makes it the focus, and and the colours and font fit well with the retro theme I was going for. The shape of the font itself is based off retro video games like Space Invaders. The image is also made up of shapes with no outlines, making the logo design appear sleeker and more modern.
