Chesters Museum...
On my way back from Carlisle to Newcastle. We stopped off at Chesters Roman Fort And Museum, for a short visit to see some remains and ruins of the Roman Fort and Bathhouse.
Chesters is the nicest of the Hadrian’s Wall forts. It lies 20 miles west of Newcastle and forms the beginning of the dramatic central part of Hadrian’s Wall. Chesters is still ‘civilised’: it lies in fertile farmland at the point where the Wall crosses the river North Tyne.
And this a small museum surrounded by trees and I was glad to see, that the rain had stopped and the sun was trying to come out when we arrived here.
Many thanks for your kind comments and compliments from you here, my good flickr friends !!!
