Take a Deeper Look
I really like this particular snapshot that was taken at The Candle Lab in the Short North of Columbus, because it does a great job of representing the idea of "endless possibilities." The photo serves more as a checkpoint for me in the semester, because it illustrates what my mind has begun to look like whenever I am contemplating a decision or weighing out my options before actually making an important decision. In the past, I have usually just listened to my heart or my gut-instinct; but now, I have learned that I really need to think about the consequences of my actions before doing anything irrational. Referring back to the previous snapshot of me studying in my dorm room, it was a perfect example of one of the first times that I planned ahead. I thought about what my week would be like if I had not studied ahead of time and what it would be like if I had studied ahead of schedule, and then I maturely made the smarter and wiser decision. I feel like that is what most of college is about - learning to give and take in order to find a certain balance in your life that you are comfortable living with. For me, I am able to find my balance by making lists of Pros and Cons and by talking to my friends and family whenever I need advice. Sometimes I just have to swallow my pride and ask for help - even when I just want to do things on my own. I feel like coming to this realization will help me so much down the road.
