Wheal Prosper Engine House, Rinsey, Cornwall
Now owned and maintained by the National Trust, this engine house worked for about six years from 1860. The house itself contained a 30 inch pumping engine. The graceful chimney stack stands at the opposite corner from where the boiler house originally stood. A mound of clinker can still be seen to the left of the latter - now covered with vegetation. The mine itself was never particulary "prosperous" despite its name. It produced mostly tin, although the actual output is not recorded. The engine house was used by the BBC for the filming of 'Poldark' in the 1970s.
The image was taken from a DJI Phantom Vision 2 Plus quad-copter.
