Mallard x Red-crested Pochard (pair)
Taken at Southport Marine Lake, Lancashire, UK. While the male is a classic Mallard x RCP hybrid, I've not seen a female like this before, but the same parentage looks likely.
A female RCP was present at this site for a long time a few years ago, so I wonder if these are her offspring, fathered by a local Mallard. In which case, it is interesting to note these phenotypes arose from a male Mallard and a female RCP.
If these two are now paired together, I wonder what their offspring will look like!
