Mallard x Red-crested Pochard (female)

Present with a male on Southport Marine Lake, Lancashire, UK. While the male she was with is a classic Mallard x RCP hybrid, I've not seen a female like this before, but the same parentage looks likely.

 

A female RCP was present at this site for a long time a few years ago, so I wonder if this is one of her offspring, fathered by a local Mallard.
