Southern Maid & Doctor Syn

Same station [as previous photo] but different trains.

The green engine headed towards Dungeness is a GN Outline 2 cylinder 4-6-2 Pacific locomotive named Southern Maid. It was built by Davey Paxman & Co. in 1926.

The engine heading the other way is Dr. Syn, one of the railway's two Canadian Pacific-style locomotives, built in 1931 by the Yorkshire Engine Co., the other being Winston Churchill. Doctor Syn is a local fictional hero of smuggling stories.
