Living [almost] Free

Port Lympne has nine giraffes, six of them being Nubian Giraffes, an endangered sub-species and it’s sadly estimated that a population of less than 2500 mature individuals are left in the wild. They live out on Port Lympne’s African Experience and have their own specially adapted house for the colder months. At least here they have no natural predators.

They spend up to 75 percent of the day eating. Their life span is 25 years.Like human finger prints no two giraffes have the same coat pattern.
