Big Ben view
I took this photo beneath London’s giant Ferris wheel, the London Eye. It would be great to see London lit up at night but unfortunately the Eye closed at 8.30pm before it gets dark at the moment. The walkway is to the London Eye pier. Using water buses is a great way to see the sights.
In the distance you can see Big Ben. Actually, as all Brits [and immigrants who have passed the nationality test] know, Big Ben is the clock – not the tower. That tower was once called, uninspiringly, the Clock Tower, but it is now officially known as the Elizabeth Tower, renamed to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II in 2012. But everybody still calls it Big Ben…
