Many cities these days have ‘hop-on hop-off’ buses which are a convenient way to explore, but to really get under the skin of any place you have to use your legs.
I love exploring the little alleys that are all too easily missed. This is Tower Court, a small terrace of former shops that sits at the back of Ambassador's Theatre in Covent Garden. The buildings date from the late 18th century and although they were once shops today they are all houses. However, a number of the original wooden shop fronts have survived.
