Capel-le-Ferne, St Mary's Church

This little church is remote from the road and “squats snugly on bleak downland above Folkestone”. Supposedly it has views across the channel, looking towards France but I couldn’t see either Folkestone or France. I can only assume that these views would be possible from the top of the tower! Its early origins are Norman and it has a single Norman window, the rest being mainly from the fifteenth century. St Mary's is constructed in flint with tiled roofs.
