St Mary & St Ethelburga Church, Lyminge
Parts of this church date back to the 7th century although there is evidence of Roman work and it’s possible that perhaps the lower walls were originally part of Roman domestic buildings. Many Roman tiles are used in the windows and elsewhere, presumably taken from buildings now destroyed. The tower, which replaced an earlier tower, was erected in the 15th century. It contains a ring of eight bells. Of these the dates are 1631, 1727, 1759, 1785 (two), 1810 and 1904.
