Final Portfolio 3
I know, there’s not much of a correlation between kiwi and a triangle, but I wanted to creatively use the kiwis to make art. I wanted the kiwis to act like paint so that my audience can focus on a subject that was made using kiwis. I really like the color of kiwis and how it contrast on a white background. This is the final piece to my fruit group, and it gives off a very simple yet creative idea. I wanted to use Kiwis to show a picture, so I got the idea of cutting it into pieces to create a flower or something. Along the way, I experimented and thought the kiwis looked better when they were placed in the way I have it in the picture. To me, it somehow reminds me of the illuminati, but to keep it simple, I decided to not draw the eye since it would shift away attention from my theme which is simple and creative foods in real life. It was composed in this way to surprise viewers and make them think of what it is. It’s very easy to spot the triangle as long as viewers take into consideration the placement of the kiwis. What makes this photo interesting is the fact that it’s art using fruits. Like the other photos in my portfolio, I tried using fruits, vegetables, and grains to make creative and simple looking things. Most of the foods in my portfolio are fresh foods that don’t need to be cooked. The emotions that I was trying to get out of it is probably making viewers surprised and in awe about my creation. I want them leaving the photo with a “Oh, now I get it!” It bumps their spirit and self esteem and the green contrast can really brighten up someone’s day. For settings, I used and ISO of 200 to make up the lost of sunlight in the picture. Aperture is to 3.2 since I didn’t want my camera to blur out parts and used a shutter speed of 1/25 to create a sharp and clear image.
