S7024 - Sceugh Head

HISTORY

Pillar completed 11th July 1952 costing £20.15s.0d. Computed as tertiary triangulation station NY45/T64 in 1953. Flush bracket S7024 was levelled for height to first class precision, tertiary standards in 1970. This pillar station was last maintained by the Ordnance Survey in in August 1984.

 

SITE VISIT

Parked roadside at nearest point. Field edge, left of boundary wall, connecting gate beyond. The pillar is in good condition. Spider centre plugged with smooth brown resin. The flush bracket faces NNE along the field edge, compass measurment 27°. Vented through right (NW) sight hole. Limited views.
