G0917 - Sundayswells Croft

Second Geodetic Levelling, Scotland (1936-52).

Flush bracket G917 was used during the Second geodetic levelling, Scotland, and was levelled with a height of 480.883 feet above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Banchory to Rhynie levelling line. Geodetic line G.205, levelled during 1944. The surveyor's description was NE face of bridge, over NW bank of Beltie Burn.

 

This marker was relevelled as a tertiary bench mark and last verified in 1968. The OS Online Archive gives the description "bridge parapet, NE side of road, NW side of stream".

 

SITE VISIT

Bridge parapet. West end of of north parapet, FB facing SW across road. Numbers were buried, had to be dug out.
