G1164 - Heugh-head

NO 5832 9993, LR37 & LR44.

 

Second Geodetic Levelling, Scotland (1936-52).

Flush bracket G1164 was used during the second geodetic levelling of Scotland, and was levelled with a height of 377.689 feet above mean sea level (Newlyn datum). It was included on the Braemar to Banchory levelling line. Geodetic line G.206, levelled during 1946. The surveyor's description was S face, SW angle of building, N side of road.

 

This marker was last verified in 1974. The OS Online Archive gives the description "outbuilding, Heugh Head, S face, SW angle".

 

SITE VISIT

On cottage gable, visible from public road. Access good.
