Hoover Dynamic Next DXA49W3 1-80 - Control Board - Chip Viper16l Dirty but works- 16-08-2020
oover Dynamic Next DXA49W3 1-80 Washing Machine
E08 Error
16-08-2020
Repaired
The washing machine was giving the E08 or E-08 Error after a cycle. Water Pump worked as it could put in and drain water but it was not spinning properly. Unit would spin in reverse but not in main clockwise direction.
Motor was originally though to be the problem until I check the brushes which had 30mm+ left, tacho give a reading when spun by hand and as it was going in reverse the coils were OK so not the motor itself. A Motor would have cost €140 to get from england. Next step was the controller board which would have cost €90, still cheaper than a motor or new machine.
Board was dirty with carbonized spider web on it and carbon on chips in the motor control section but that was only superficial and not physical in nature so i cleaned it up. Next step was finding where the coils connected and testing the relays. Bought the board out to my cabin and connected it up to 12V 20ma but actually used 9v to test relay and got clicking so relay electromagnet was closing on and off. Next was continuity test to see if the motor was switching and Nope not going from reverse the NC to the NO forwards position. The solution to this was brute force basically. Cut the end of the relay case open and moved the lower contact up a fraction of a mm, about thickness of paper sheet or two. This with 12v gave a good click and switched the Forward motor position on.
Repair was done and loads of money saved. just taped it with electrical tape which was in itself a pain to find as it was missing as usual. and connected the machine together and it worked away from then on.
