Nitrogen Packing

When Dr. Schnabel and Dr. Kohler advised companies who intended to produce wheatgrass for humans, they insisted that companies use amber glass bottles with special lids that would allow the product to be in an oxygen-free environment. Since this was prior to the invention of synthetic vitamins, Drs. Schnabel and Kohler promoted the tablets as a source of vitamins. When sold between 1925 and 1960, grass tablets from Northeastern Kansas were the World's first vitamin supplement.. Keeping nutritional levels high between production and consumption was a major concern then and should still be a major concern today.
