The village of Netus was first documented in 1309.

The hall church dedicated to Saint-Nicolas was built in the 14th century, with a choir with 5/8 apse and a west tower. In a second phase of construction, at the end of the 15th century, the hall was fitted with a star-shaped vault on a cross of brick ribs. A strong keep is built above the choir. Stairs in the thickness of the wall lead to the upper levels. The 5th level has a guard path, lined with planks, surmounted by a pyramidal roof.

In 1860, the west tower was demolished and replaced by a choir to the west, the work being carried out by the craftsman Rudolf Neuendorf from Sighisoara. The altar and the pulpit, works of the craftsman Johann Folberth, date from 1770. The church organ was built in 1850.
