Tiene un tamaño considerable envergadura alar máxima de 4cm y las hembras de 5cm y una longitud de 3 a 4cm) son negros peludos y además su zumbido es imponente, la cópula suele ser de corta duración. Se alimentan de polen y néctar.
En este caso al contraluz no pudimos ver los reflejos azulados de sus alas cuando les da el sol de frente.
They are quite large (with a maximum wingspan of 4 cm, and females measuring 5 cm, and a length of 3 to 4 cm). They are black and furry, and their buzzing call is impressive; copulation is usually short. They feed on pollen and nectar.
In this case, against the backlight, we couldn't see the bluish reflections of their wings when the sun hits them directly.
