Los Coenagrium son un género de la familia Coenagrionidae. Entre las especies que abarca, el caerulescens se confunde fácilmente con scitulum, las diferencias en sus manchas negras hay que buscarlas en el seg 2 y otros seg abdominales. Otras diferencias están en el pronoto, la forma del pterostigma y de los cercoides anales muy difícil verlos en fotografía.

Among the species it covers, the caerulescens is easily confused with scitulum, the differences in its black spots must be looked for in sec 2 and others abdominals. Other differences are in the pronotum, the shape of the pterostigma and the anal cercoids, which are very difficult to see in photographs.
