BACKGROUND
Monday the 10th of December should be a joyful day. On this day we celebrate that it is exactly 70 years since the UN Human Rights Declaration was adopted – on the back of the horrors of the world war.

But at present, the Danish government and Danish politicians constantly challenge these human rights that are so precious. Most recently with the 2019 fiscal budget. Politicians want to send even more children into poverty and rejected asylum seekers will place on a remote island – an island that should be both costly and difficult to leave.

Our rights have long been under pressure. We must hold on to the important historical victory of mankind by standing together. We will remind each other that human rights are something we give each other, and they are only "human" rights if they apply to all people.

The Denmark we want to see and live shows empathy and takes responsibility to make sure that all people have the opportunity for a dignified life. The Denmark we want:
• Is sticking to the human rights conventions
• Do not allow children to live and grow up in poverty, simply because their parents have fled from war and misery
• Allows people to integrate,
• Protects minorities and treat people first and foremost as humans
Let us stand together on human rights and combat the politicians' efforts to increase inequality among people. Let's create a better Denmark for all.
