Haew Narok Waterfall, Khao Yai National Park, Thailand

The name is directly translated to Cliff of Hell Waterfall. There were many reported cases of elephants falling off the cliff to death due to the strong current of the waterfall. The park has put up big stone fences around the cliff to prevent elephants wandering to the point of danger. Not only the fall is hell, also the path. I was told by a gatekeeper that there are 200 steps to reach the waterfall. At the beginning of the trail there was a sign saying 900 metre to the fall. I was completely at ease considering how easy it looked. Have I been so wrong, the last 100 metre was a pure hell of steep steps. Way down was tough and the way up made me want to have a heart attack!
