This time of the year this species can be uncharacteristically cheeky & "agitated" as part of their distraction routine when one is near a nesting area.

In this case it was equal parts 'distraction " & curiosity regarding the family dog, a Pomeranian named Riddle, with whom at times i tromp around with....

Often the birds come out to see "What is that animal?"

 

So the excuse of walking the dog gets me out & about ... looking at wildlife

:)

especially around farms

 

I must stress however that there are places where Dog Walking is not appropriate and i will not go with a dog "in tow"

 

& yeah i have been "that guy" calling out people who let their dogs run around,out of control, harassing birds & wildlife
