Gwardar / Northern Brown Snake
Gwardar / Northern Brown Snake (Pseudonaja nuchalis).
This is the first one I've ever seen alive!
While at the time of writing this snake is listed as under a single species named (P. nuchalis), recent genetic studies indicate that this species may in fact be three or more separate species in complex accross the Top End of Australia.
Also, if you're not Australian, yes, Pseudonaja species (Australian brown snakes) are all extemely venemous. However as with all snakes, as long as you don't mess around with them (grabbing, standing on them etc.) they shouldn't be feared. Respected yes but not feared.
Please don't kill snakes.
