PRS_046 Robe, Jeremy Scott - Moschino, 2022-2023
Dress, moiré silk with a 'watered' effect evoking the iridescence of wood grain, bodice with polished brass handles and locks simulating the drawers of an antique chest, structured skirt with a rigid plastic frame, Aari and Zardosi embroidery incorporating gold sequins, glass beads and bugle beads.
Since its creation in 1983, Moschino has been known for its taste for humour and subversion. In 2022, Jeremy Scott imagined a grand, beautiful residence where every piece of furniture becomes a pretext for creating a garment. A desk, a dresser, a chest of drawers: this dress evokes the idea of furniture more than any particular piece. The moiré fabric imitates the grain of the wood, while the exaggerated hips echo the curves of Rococo-style furniture, and embroidery disquised as gilded bronze decorations highlights the look.
