PRS_044 Ensemble, Pieter Mulier - Alaïa, 2024-2025
In 2021, almost three years after the death of the brand's founder, Belgian native Pieter Mulier was appointed the creative director of Alaïa. Passionate about art and design, Mulier cut his teeth working with Raf Simons, as design director at Dior, and then as creative director at Calvin Klein. In the space of only a few seasons, he was able to fully enter the Alaïa mindset whilst giving his own slant on things. sharing Alaïa's vision of fashion as architecture, but also as sculpture and as an expression of sensuality and femininity. In this design, he plays with the draping and pleating often found on ancient bronzes inspired by antiquity.
