Chhath is an ancient Hindu festival practiced mainly in the Indian states of Bihar, eastern Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand. In present times, people irrespective of their states and cultures are also celebrating it. Chhath is a festival dedicated to the Sun God Surya and his sister Shashti Devi (Chhathi Maiya), to thank them for giving the bounties of life on earth and fulfilling wishes.
