Young Heroes Vol 1 - Issue #10 "A Choice"

 

*After Alpha delivered his speech about the power nullifying 'Meta-Pill' the team realised just what has been happening. Alpha had been using his position as mayor to go under the radar and gain control of Atlas City, where only winged and animal type metas are allowed to live there. This allowed him to only be challenged by a limited range of heroes whom could not obtain enough evidence for a full on A.N.G.E.L. Investigation into his alleged child smuggling. The team had found out he must've been using the villain, Sharkattack to intercept T.O.X.I.N.s children smuggling boats. Employing Snowdrop to hack the radar of the boats to go undetected and also tamper with any tracking devices onboard. From then on it was using various villains for hired help to transport the children from the shore and sneak them into whatever facility inside Atlas City, where he had total control of authorities. He then had been conducting tests on the children for the so called, M-Pill. It didn't just nullify their abilities though. No. That was just so it could be dispatched. It clearly had some sort of brain washing side effect, something that made them totally obedient to Alpha's commands. Question remained, how could they prove it and or catch him in the act? They couldn't. Not yet at least. Vega knew this though, she has dealt with these kind of people before. Which is why she decided to pay him a visit.*

 

Alpha: "May I offer you a drink, my dear?"

 

Vega: "No."

 

Alpha: "Your loss."

 

*Alpha pours himself a glass pitcher of whiskey and licks his curled lips revealing his large teeth at Vega who's sits at his desk watching him through narrow lenses.*

 

Alpha: "You broke into my mansion."

 

Vega: "You should lock your doors."

 

*Alpha lets out a course growl of a laugh and holds his pitcher of whiskey flicking his tongue inside it like a dog with a bowl of water. He locks eyes with her and points out an extended claw finger and smirks*

 

Alpha: "I like you."

 

Vega: "Well I don't like you. I know you smuggled those kids to test out your M-Pill."

 

Alpha: "What are you going to do about it, hero? As far as I'm aware you have no evidence. Even if you were recording this conversation it is invalid because I never gave you my consent."

 

*Alpha trudges over to Vega towering over her and she looks up at his smug smile clenching her fists. Alpha notices this and growls grabbing her by the throat in his hand lifting her 3ft in the air at his level laughing at her grab his wrist struggling.*

 

Alpha: "I could kill you right now and say it was in self defence. Or I could howl for help saying there's a Meta in my mansion. You were a fool to come here."

 

Vega: "I only came to make a choice."

 

*Vega hits at Alpha's hands weakly making him smile with amusement as he slams a large meaty fist into her body making her go limp. He snorts dropping her, as she falls he backhands her across the room.*

 

Alpha: "What choice? Are you going to kill me, you can't. If you murdered me everyone would know it was a Meta. Humans adore me, they appeal to my Anti-Meta policy. It would start another a Meta war, like in Croatia."

 

Vega: *grunts* "Why do you want the kids on the M-Pill?"

 

Alpha: "I can simply activate their powers once again with a voice command. Only their little minds will be mine to control. Once the pill goes global I will have Meta's hooked and finally I will be the Alpha."

 

*Vega gets up slowly from the floor only to be grabbed in Alpha's paw and smashed through his desk. He pulls away looking down at the woman who lays there feebly trying to get up, she tilts her head looking up at him.*

 

Vega: "I've made my choice. I'm going to kill you."

 

Alpha: *laughs* "You can't kill me. You're beaten, you're weak, you're-"

 

Vega: "Faking."

 

*Alpha looks at her shocked as she becomes a blur quickly zipping away. He turns in a daze seeing her leap up and kick off his chest causing him to stagger back near his broken desk. He swipes at her with his claws only to scratch the empty air and growls angrily. Vega leaps up into the air locking eyes with him and claps her hand in a heartbeat rhythm off his chest. Alpha's heart beats abnormally as her hand blurs smacking his furry chest harder. She grabs his collar whilst he falls back on the remains of his desk pining and looks into his wide eyes feeling his heart twitch and and become still.*

 

Vega: "A heart attack. What a happy accident."

 

*Vega stands up dusting off her hands and speeds out the mansion into the night leaving Alpha alone in his study. She ended him, now she had to end the distribution of the M-Pill.*
