Blackmailed - Issue #6 "The Great Escape"

 

Riding Hood: "Quick follow me!"

 

Snowdrop: "Not so fast, I've yet to get my brother out."

 

Flamiac: "I'm not getting caught for your stupid brother."

 

Hybrid: "Same."

 

Rift Rider: "He got out his cell I'm sure he will escape."

 

*A few guards emerge from around the corner as the alarms blare but are quickly shot down by Riding Hood who draws his guns firing them quickly. The crew continue to run except for Snowdrop who stays behind, they are about to leave her until their comms vibrate with an incoming message stopping them*

 

Anonymous: "Well done everyone, you've completed your mission. Now as long as you escape you will be rewarded with your kidnapped loved ones, antidote and your identities will be kept a secret. Peace."

 

Riding Hood: "You guys go ahead I'll help out Snowdrop."

 

Snowdrop: "Thanks."

 

*Rift Rider, Flamiac and Hybrid continue running down the corridor and exit through a door full of rioting prisoners and guards trying to subdue them. The doors close and a glimpse of Flamiac blasting fire from his gauntlets at nearby prisoners is seen. Riding Hood and Snowdrop turn to one another then proceed to run in the opposite direction to the North Block where her brother is.*

 

Snowdrop: "You gonna cry?"

 

Riding Hood: "Shut up, they'll be fine. Their powers become active in the prison blocks. It's only the prison cells, entrance, exits and generators that are lined with Neutrillium which nullifies their powers."

 

Snowdrop: "I see. You sure know a lot about the layout of this place don't you?"

 

Riding Hood: "Sure do."

 

Snowdrop: "That's why I find it odd that you allowed the others to run towards the Guards Department rather than the Central Exit. Kinda like you were using them as a diversion."

 

*Riding Hood ignores her and kicks open one of the doors then proceeds to fire his guns at oncoming Guards and Prisoners who approach them. Snowdrops hair whitens as her powers activate, she holds out her hands brushing her fingertips along nearby attackers who scream turning into solid ice. Riding Hood lets some prisoners pass in fear as he reloads and without looking behind him fires a few rounds into their backs. They both turn the corner and stand at the North Block vault door which remains sealed*

 

Riding Hood: "Open it."

 

Snowdrop: "Who are you Riding Hood? Anonymous has your daughter sure but why set up the others just to help me?"

 

*Riding Hood remains silent as Snowdrop presses her palms against the vault door turning it to ice, the gears creak and whine as they shatter. The vault door cracks down the middle and breaks apart revealing yet another block of prison cells but these ones have not opened. The two enter the facility, its guards have abandoned their posts to help others, obviously because they knew this Block was unaffected by the power generators malfunction*

 

Snowdrop: "Alright Riding Hood, I've had enough of this BS who are you?"

 

Anonymous: "Sound familiar?"

 

Snowdrop: "Anonymous? What is going--oh."

 

*Riding Hood walks past her and begins looking through the cells as Snowdrop follows him frowning*

 

Snowdrop: "You? You are the blackmailer?! What about your daughter, Beretta?"

 

Riding Hood: "I made her up, named her after a gun for God sake. I had to have some fake reason to be on the team, didn't I? Had to be sure you all didn't screw up. All it took was a voice disguiser stored in my visor and play the part, which I did beautifully might I add."

 

Snowdrop: "Why did you need us?"

 

Riding Hood: " Hybrid for keeping the guards busy just now. Flamiac for helping me take down the generator since he too has no powers just like me. Rift Rider for transport and you for hacking and getting to here."

 

*Riding Hood peeks through the window of one of the larger cells and waves through it at someone inside. He steps back and points his gun at the control panel shooting it, it sparks vigorously and the cell opens. Slowly a large furry hand grasps the side of the cell and out steps the large creature known as 'Bad Wolf'*

 

Snowdrop: "No freakin' way."

 

Bad Wolf: "RH! How did you get in here?!"

 

Riding Hood: "Blackmailed a few suckers now come on let's bail."

 

Snowdrop: "All of this was just to get that thing?!"

 

Riding Hood: "Hey this is guy is my family and longtime accomplice. I told him I'd get him out and I'm a man of my word, speaking of."

 

*Riding Hood walks across from Bad Wolf and looks into the cell and shoots the control panel walking off. Snowdrop walks up to the cell which opens and smiles tackling her brother with a hug*

 

Snowdrop: "Snowflake!"

 

Snowflake: "S-Sis what are you doing here?! Uh, by the way, it's Blizzard."

 

Snowdrop: "Long story now come on we need to try and get out of here."

 

*Bad Wolf walks up to the wall Riding Hood is standing next to and begins smashing his large fists into it till eventually it gives way and crumbles leading out to a small strip of land near the sea. Riding Hood pulls out a small device pressing a key on it and suddenly a red submarine emerges to the surface, the two walk out the prison and open the hatch crawling inside. Snowdrop and Blizzard stand there watching wide-eyed. Riding Hood climbs up the ladder and pops his head out from the hatch*

 

Riding Hood: "Bad Wolf wants you both to come with."

 

Snowdrop: "Sweet."

 

Blizzard: "We can't trust them, sis."

 

Snowdrop: "Get used to it lil' bro something tells me we will be seeing a lot more of 'em."

 

*The siblings get inside the Submarine and close the hatch, soon later submerging into the icy depths of the sea diving deep under, leaving the Prison in anarchy whilst the inmates battle the guards. The single bridge connecting the prison to Avalon City is swarming with police and heroes which make their way towards Lockdown preparing themselves for the fight ahead*
