LC Verse Spider-Man #32 "Day at the beach"

 

My blood boils with anger at the sight of Jack'O Lantern as he hovers on his glider above me. "I know you are Norman Osborn, you sick freak!" I yell clenching my fists. He lets out a smug chuckle and claps sarcastically as if I should have known my best friends dad was a Psychopath. "Never saw that coming did you? Just like you didn't see this coming either." His pumpkin masks smile becomes a sinister smirk. I look around quickly as my spider sense begins to tingle down my spine, I feel the sand under my feet begin to shift and pulsate as if it were alive. "What is that?!" I yell at Jack'O Lantern trying to hide the panic in my voice. The sand suddenly begins to pull out from under my feet and cluster together beside him. I lose my balance falling back looking up at the large sand creature beginning to take form, I look wide eyed in shock getting to my feet. "Spider-Man meet Sand Thing, he will be assisting me in your murder!"

I quickly scramble to my feet as Sandthing smashes his large fist into the sand beneath me, I spray my webbing at its face attempting to blind it. It pushes the sand granules through my webbing absorbing it, I swing my fist into its head and it bursts on impact. It deteriorates rapidly into the ground in a lump of sand. "What does it take to beat this guy?!" I think to myself. Jack'O Lantern soars towards me I almost forgot about him, he smashes his elbow into my stomach knocking the air out of my lungs. I fall to the ground wheezing and feel a giant force crash down on my back, I grunt in pain seeing Sandthing lift up a hammer shaped hand. I get to my feet weakly only to see Jack'O Lantern jump off his glider slamming his boot into the side of my face. My vision blurs and my cheek throbs in pain flaring up "This is the end of you." Jack'O Lantern grabs me by my neck with a vice like grip lifting me off my feet squeezing my throat. My vision begins to blacken in a vignette style as I choke, Sandthing looks over me watching the life drain from me. I clutch Jack'O Lanterns wrist attempting to break free of his grip but it's like I'm prying open steel fingers.

I begin to black out until I hear a familiar caw of a bird, that's when I see Vulture soar overhead dive bombing Jack'O Lantern slashing at him with his razor talons. "Agh!" Jack'O Lantern cries out in pain letting go of my throat clutching his back whilst blood trickles between his fingers. "Hey Ugly!" Antisite says to Sandthing swinging his way to my rescue, he flip kicks Sandthing in the chest causing it to stagger back. I get up shakily to my feet clutching my throat gasping for air desperately filling my lungs. "Spidey you okay?!" Night Cat slashes her claws at Sandthings legs cutting them down every time they reform as her, Antise and Vulture push it towards the water. I nod slightly and begin to breathe normally once more, I look up and see Jack'O Lantern leap onto his glider hovering in the air observing the battle. "Bath time!" Antisite yells striking Sandthing into the water as Night Cat slices off its legs which cannot seem to reform now that he's wet. It follows back into the water deteriorating and I smile relieved as Vulture, Antisite and Night Cat run up to me panting. "Great job guys thank you so much I was almost a goner." I say rubbing my throat still feeling the hands of Jack'O Lanterns hand around it. "Aw how sweet(!) Now you have to battle me Spider-Man, and this time I get to kill your friends too." Jack'O Lantern cackles zipping towards us on his glider.
