MKSG Doom - Issue #1

May 27th, 2018

"... and that, ladies in gentlemen, is the idea behind this device. By harnessing the power of these small pieces of Vibranium I have acquired through rather... unconventional means, my machine should allow the user's astral form to be projected into another dimension."

The room erupted into applause, scientists and fair-comers gaping at Victor's creation.

"Mr. von Doom, is that even possible?"

"If my calculations and research are correct, which they seldom aren't, then it is possible doctor."

"Extraordinary Victor, simply magnificent! You wouldn't mind if my colleagues and I inspected it, would you?"

"Of course not, doctor."

A huge grin overtook Victor's face. Finally, his own device had impressed more people than that of Reed Richards. With another applause from the audience, Victor activated the machine. Even the "genius" himself was completely aghast. He turned to Victor, a look of shock on his face.

"Victor, you have to turn it off."

The Vibranium began to glow.

"I won't do that Reed."

The machine began to spark.

"It can't contain that amount of power!"

Electricity began arcing between the Vibranium.

“Just let me have this one damn thing, Richards! You don’t have to drag me down every chance you get!”

“Johnny, Ben, turn that damned thing off before it kills us all! Everyone else, RUN!”

The arcs grew larger, arcing towards Victor. Reed turned to help people from the room as Johnny and Ben ran towards Victor and his machine, which began radiating a blue glow.

Sue sprinted into the room.

“What the hell is going on in here?!”

Victor stood between his machine and the other four.

“I won’t let you take this from me! It has to work, it has to!”

Reed continued walked towards Victor.

“Victor, I might not like you, but that thing is going to kill you. The Vibranium is unstable!”

Klaue said the Vibranium was stable enough to work, Victor thought to himself, there’s no way it could-

With a high-pitched squeal and a crack, the Vibranium imploded and let out a shockwave, obliterating the entire State University library.
