Hike to the Rifugio Treviso in the Val Canali
We discover the beautiful Val Canali, a valley in the Trentino Dolomites located in the south of the impressive Pala Group
It's not without reason, that the Val Canali is considered to be one of the most beautiful Dolomite valleys. In order to reach our starting point, we drive from Primiero towards the Passo Cereda and follow the signpost "Villa Welsperg" to the chargeable parking space at Lake Welsperg (Bar al Lago). We start our hike following the asphalt road into the valley past the Villa Welsperg (nature park visitors' centre) and crossing the bridge over the stream to reach the signpost no. 724 on the western side of the valley. This path coincides with the Muse Fedaie Course, a theme path dedicated to the nature and history of the valley.
We reach the Cant del Gal tavern and follow the trail no. 709 towards north-west into the Val Pradidali, a side valley of the Val Canali. Walking uphill through a beautiful forest with small mountain streams we come to the ruins of the Malga Pradidali mountain hut. At this point we turn towards east and the Malga Canali mountain hut, a well-known rest point. The Dolomite peaks of the impressive Pala Group dominate the landscape.
We continue our hike on the path no. 707 towards the Rif. Treviso mountain hut, the highest point of our tour. The trail proceeds first as a forest road, then as a narrow forest path in serpentines along the steep slope. The hut invites to rest and refuel with new energy and to enjoy the beautiful panoramic view on the surrounding mountains. Finally the path no. 707 leads us to the Cant del Gal tavern and - along the Percorso Fedaie - back to the Villa Welsperg at the eponymous lake.

Wanderung zur Treviso Hütte im Canali Tal
Wir begeben uns auf eine Entdeckungstour durch das Val Canali, ein bezauberndes Dolomitental im Süden der Palagruppe
Das Val Canali gilt nicht ohne Grund als eines der schönsten Dolomitentäler. Um zum Ausgangspunkt unserer Runde durch das Tal zu gelangen, fahren wir von Primiero in Richtung Passo Cereda und folgen den Wegweisern zur "Villa Welsperg" bis zum gebührenpflichtigen Parkplatz auf der Höhe des Welsperg Sees ("Bar al Lago"). Es geht los: Wir folgen der Straße ein Stück taleinwärts, vorbei am Naturparkhaus Villa Welsperg, um danach über die Brücke den Bach zu überqueren und dem Wegweiser 724 an der westlichen Talseite zu folgen. Dieser Weg entspricht dem Muse Fedaie Parcours, einem Themenweg zu Natur und Geschichte des Tales.
Wir erreichen das Gasthaus Cant del Gal und folgen nun dem Wegweiser 709. Dieser verläuft in Richtung Nordwest ins Val Pradidali, ein Seitental des Val Canali. Bergauf durch einen schönen, von zahlreichen kleinen Bächen bewässerten Wald, erreichen wir die Ruine der ehemaligen Pradidali Alm. Auf dieser Höhe geht es nun weiter Richtung Osten, dem Wegweiser zur Malga Canali Alm (Einkehrmöglichkeit) folgend. Nach einer Weile erreichen wir die Almwiesen - hinter der Hütte ragen die zauberhaften Dolomitengipfel der Pale di San Martino in den Himmel.
Am Weg Nr. 707 wandern wir weiter zum Rifugio Treviso, dem höchsten Punkt unserer Tour. Zuerst eine Forststraße, geht es bald auf einem Waldpfad weiter, der am Ende in Serpentinen den steilen Hang hinaufführt. Auf der Hütte haben wir nicht nur Gelegenheit, uns zu stärken, sondern auch den Blick auf die Berge zu genießen. Zurück zum Ausgangspunkt geht es dann über den Weg 707 zum Cant del Gal und dem Percorso Fedaie entlang zur Villa Welsperg und zum See.
