Currumbin Cascades Calm

Currumbin Creek tumbles down the slopes of the Springbrook Plateau at velocity when it rains. This image shows a polished boulder with a pile of rounded rubble dropped as the stream slows. An age old pattern emerges as the near bank with palm saplings erodes away and the far bank collects sand and other heavier material. The scene is captured in a light well in the dense sub-tropical forest.
