Strelitzia reginae

Spikes of the popular Strelitzia species unfold from the sheath in this case from right to left. I think this is now the complete array. Note that the sequential unfolding means that the first petals may deteriorate before later ones fully unfold, a hazard for photographers. Still, I think image one passes muster. I like especially the tones and texture of the last purple spike as it emerges.
