Cliffs of Santorini

Santorini (Thera) is constituted by the remains of a huge volcano which collapsed in on itself leaving the rim as the cliffs shown here. The town of Santorini (Thera or Fira) is spread along the clifftops. The 'inside' of the caldera rim provides the bays where the ports for ferries and cruise ships are located. The restaurant outdoor pictured is vacant because of strong winds typical of the area at this time of year.
