La imagen que presento complementa la información de la anterior, "fatalidad" cuando decía que el ojo, en aquella, ya estaba formado y no había conseguido el imago sacar la cabeza.
Aquí podemos observar que el ojo como el resto de la cabeza no está formado definitivamente. Insuflará aire hasta conseguir la forma definitiva, tanto en la cabeza como en el resto del cuerpo y alas.

Here we can see that the eye, like the rest of the head, is not definitively formed. It will blow air until it gets the definitive form, both in the head and in the rest of the body and wings.
